Waiting - In Words
Waiting
is a condition that rarely fails to yield worthwhile rewards. The
expression “waiting in vain” is somewhat a misnomer; given that
although what we are waiting for may not always come in the format we are
expecting, the actual state of waiting is virtuous in itself.
Waiting sanctions patience and fortifies endurance -- qualities we need
when faced with difficult times. Waiting may even add extra value to what
we eventually get when we receive more than we anticipated; the element of
gratification embedded in the surprise makes us feel all the more rewarded
for waiting.
In the context of this image, the character in waiting depicts the grace
that patience bestows on those who wait. Even though there is no
indication of what she seems to be waiting for or that it will come to
pass, her posture radiates refinement that suggests her waiting will
indeed bear fruit.
